The 'Shepherd's Plaid' is regarded as one of the oldest tweed weaving patterns, made with undyed wools to create the contrast check. 
It is know by several names: Shepherd's Plaid, Shepherd's Check, Northumberland Plaid, Northumberland Check, Northumberland Tartan...to name a few!
